Back from Switzerland. This time, we stayed outside Lausanne, in a small town called Chexbres (che bres). The hotel (The Prealpina) was great – pretty high up the mountain so you could watch the clouds float past at eye level. Two cloudy wet mornings, but this lovely dawn came in between the two. Some slight tweaking in the Gimp after I finally got it working in Windows XP with ufraw.

A song that would bring a tear to a glass eye, as my mother says. Maxwell does a great version as well, different due to it being falsetto for the most part, but dropping down to his ‘male’ voice towards the end.

I spent a while playing with a bunch of flowers that I’d bought Judy. The pink Gerbera was striking, so I spent some time trying to capture that with my Tamron 90mm macro lens. The sun was streaming in the window, so there’s a few blown highlights on the waterdrops, but I’m pretty happy with it.
