Our boy’s toy, or some at least. Desperate weather around here for August, so I thought I’d stay in the house and find something colourful. These were just the job.

The first of two sports days turned out as I expected. Very, very wet. Judy and our neighbour Tracy braved the elements without brollies ‘in solidarity with the kids’. Sod that, I had my raincoat, my waterproof peaked cap and a brollie so I was fine. I did enough of all that guff when I was a kid, playing Gaelic football on a windswept field in the middle of winter in North Dublin. No thank you.
…comes from little Mark. Telling him that we’re on our way to Luke’s fifth birthday party, he asks:
“Will there be playing?”
Yes Mark, there’ll be playing.
“Will there be games?”
Yes Mark, there’ll be games.
“Will there be cake biting?”
<silence>
Yes Mark, there’ll be cake biting.
(WTF?)
Update: This site is now result no. 2 on google for cake biting, just nudged out of top spot by cakebite.com (potentially NSFW galleries)
