The first of two sports days turned out as I expected. Very, very wet. Judy and our neighbour Tracy braved the elements without brollies ‘in solidarity with the kids’. Sod that, I had my raincoat, my waterproof peaked cap and a brollie so I was fine. I did enough of all that guff when I was a kid, playing Gaelic football on a windswept field in the middle of winter in North Dublin. No thank you.
Phew – short, snappy title that. My brother Paul sent me an electronic version of a document that our Dad wrote a few years ago regarding the role his Dad, also called Richard Connolly, played in the Irish War of Independence and the Civil War. I’ve put this on a separate page here.
some kind soul, who seems to prefer to remain nameless, has updated my flickr account to a Pro one. Nice one, anonymous benefactor, much appreciated!
