This is probably pushing my luck

I’ve grabbed the torrent for openSUSE 10 beta 3 and decided to bite the bullet, skip the installation into VMware to test it and instead, just install over my home system using the “System Update” feature, using mounted isos on the existing file system. Andreas has written a wee script to setup the installation source. Works like a charm!

The great thing about Linux is that I’m still able to work while such a huge update is going on. No doubt there’s things I shouldn’t do, but web browsing, email and akgregator are working fine while all that stuff up there is being installed.

Moment of truth in 46:41…will the thing boot? :)

Sorry.

Some of these entries are pretty heartbreaking, some are funny. I’ll have to think of something, but nothing too bad. Maybe something related to the twitch in my left eye I’ve had for the last week.

How to fold a napkin

Posted on August 22nd, 2005 in Uncategorized by pete

Should your beery summer BBQ need a touch of refinement, you can resort to some fantastic napkin folding from here. Napkin Folding 101.

This looks like the trick you do with a crisp packet to make it into a harmless triangle, rather than dropping it into the ashtray to be melted by fag ends dropped by your slightly pissed mates.

Only better looking.

BEing colour blind isn’t a real handicap, most of the time. Usually, it’s means that you can’t buys clothes safely or you can’t be an electrician. This page has three excellent illustrations of how colours might not be what you think.
