Google Maps gets satellite
June 22nd, 2005Looks like Google has been spending some of their cash, investing in satellite photos of the parts of the world that seem interesting. Here (my place), is where you’ll find me.
House of Ill Health
June 19th, 2005Nice timing this – a mini heatwave arrived this weekend, just in time to clash with our younger ones nasty dose of chickenpox. Now, Mark isn’t one to suffer in silence, and tends to open his lungs to their full 130db output at the drop of a hat, so when he’s hot and spotty the whole neighbourhood gets to hear about it.
After two days of his (and our) disturbed nights and no sleeping during the day, I trotted off to Argos to get one of these things. This afternoon, he slept the sleep of the innocent for two hours.
Best 45 quid I’ve spent in a long while.
Jude is still struggling with her tonsillitis, while Luke is getting over his own chicken pox, so I seem to be the only healthy one in the family at the moment.
Make your mind up time
June 7th, 2005Lots of talk around about the G8 meeting about to be held up in Gleneagles. Quite a bit of scaremongering too…people that think democracy and capitalism is great as long as the thinking goes their way, but as soon as someone disagrees it’s time to shut down the voice of dissent.
Combine this crap with this shitty idea and this one and you start to wonder why people who argue about democracy, freedom, liberty, yada, yada yada all turn out to be so fucking authoritarian?
If you don’t want to see protest, move to a country that doesn’t permit it. Otherwise, STFU. Hypocrisy really grates.
