Well, the offer on our house fell through again – that’s the third time it’s happened now and we’re starting to accept that this is what’s going to happen. We hadn’t even started looking around for somewhere to live, since we sort of expected it, but it still pissed me off when I got the text from Jude. There seems to be a blight on this village – there are about 15 houses for sale, but nothing shifting. If my neighbour tells me ‘for every horse there’s a jockey’ once more time I’ll slap the bugger.
On the same day, we took in a waif in the form on our 19 year-old nephew. Seems his dad kicked him out on Monday night over some major argument to do with ballroom dancing, can you believe? It’s all a bit weird, with that family split down the middle by the whole thing and us in the middle trying to be responsible Aunty Judy and Uncle Peter(!!) I keep wanting to tell them all to fuck off and leave us alone, we’ve got our own problems and pressures, but so far I’ve kept it in check. Jude will be having a ‘casual’ chat tonight to see if some form of reconciliation can brought about…..We’ll see. Seeing as the poor (intended) dancing partner has left Canada, arrived over here, enrolled with the NHS, started taking driving lessons, signed up for university and generally given up her life, you’d think he’s do more than say he can’t be arsed dancing any more. There’s me taking sides again
Blokes. We can be fucking dreadful sometimes. Unable to communicate properly, going with the flow while ranting inside and not saying anything, then finally exploding, saying anything to hurt our ‘targets’. You’d think we could get in touch with our feminine sides a bit easier.
I wouldn’t mind touching my feminine side, but as long as he’s in the house, there’s no chance of a leg over. This must be resolved soon. I’ll be fucked if I know how.
