Ouch!!!!
Sometimes you can try to make a stand, and most times it’ll fail.
I got notification in the post that the Thames Valley Cops intend to prosecute me for not supplying information about the driver of a car that was done for speeding last year in Reading.
It was probably me that was driving, it’s my car in the piccies and I was the main driver at the time. But I wasn’t the only one. Jude was visiting Reading on Christmas shopping trips, hospital appointments and visits to her sister around that time and we’d often swap cars to cut down on her petrol bill (I get all my petrol paid for by the company). What to do? Take the rap, the fine and the points on the licence or ask them to prove who the offender was? What is justice
I chose the ‘prove it was me’ route and my bluff was called. Not for me the luxury afforded to Christine Hamilton and her ilk, I’m in court in August looking at a £1000 fine and no doubt a shitload of points on my licence, virgin as it is. I knew that my points cherry would be popped at some point, but is there any chance of a seemly struggle…nope say the local plod.
The only good part to this tale is the fact I have a lovely piccie of the back of my car, doing 49mph in a 40mph zone, full brake lights shining (I made a slight effort to slow down) and it was before the car got so dirty as to be mortifying. I _do_ wash it, just not often enough.
It’s just a car, all it does is get me from A to B, sometimes too fast.
